Amateur Radio Exam Practice

Welcome to the AA9PW Amateur Exam practice pages. This site helps you practice for the any of the three written examinations required to obtain a US Amateur Radio license. If you are asking “What is Amateur (Ham) Radio?!”, the ARRL has a great site to show you what this is all about: http://www.hello-radio.org/.

Using this site you can take a full practice test by using the form on the top left of this page – pick an exam to try and click ‘Take Exam‘. Alternatively, you can visit the Technician, General or Extra license pages where you can pick and choose the topics to practice so you can build up to a complete exam.

Once you are up to speed, to obtain your license you will have to take the exam at a testing session run by an accredited Volunteer Exam Coordinator. For more information on this process and to find a testing session near you, try these pages at the Amateur Radio Relay League (ARRL):
